How I make it through Fever Therapy...
/Journal Entry #12
Tomorrow... Monday, September 21, 2015, will be the 4th and final Fever Therapy I receive in Germany for this round of treatments. I know so many of you are praying for me, and Josh and I are continually laying my entire being and experience at Jesus' feet, and so I wanted to let you know about some of the tangible things that have helped me get through each day and the challenging treatments here.
I received 2 necklaces from friends that I usually have hanging around my neck. The first one is an open book and says, "I am the hero of this story." The second is the Hebrew word for Life (it kinda looks like the symbol for Pi) and reminds me of Proverbs 3:3, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." I really like the idea of "binding Life around my neck."
During the Surgery Blessingway Prayer Circle in June, so many of you wrote down words of encouragement on colorful pieces of paper. I also printed messages I received on Facebook or through email. Josh and I read through these during the 3 hours waiting for surgery and each day I look through some of them. I love seeing the faces of my friends as I read the words that they wrote to me. A couple from our church also made us beautiful prayer flags that we've hung up in our room... so lovely. And of course I brought with me the "You Are So Loved" book that many of you contributed to with pictures and words in June.
And then there are the cards (and flowers!) I've received while I've been here... hilarious and adorable and sweet. Also before I left, a soul-sister friend sent me socks. She said to wear them whenever I felt like I needed to feel the prayers being lifted up on my behalf. So each morning of Fever Therapy I know exactly which socks I'm wearing. She also has a duplicate pair of socks and says she prays for me throughout the day that she wears them. Wow... I feel so blessed.
Thank you!
